Dear Parents & Guardians,
Anpetu Waste (Good Day), we appreciate your support during the past few weeks with remote online learning. We have decided to return in person for educational instruction on Monday March 6th, 2023. We would like to reiterate our Back to School Plan for SY 22-23 to all students, parents, and staff of Isna Wica Owayawa. Our Back to School Plan is available on our school website https://www.isnawica.org/ We are strongly encourage families to practice protocols at home and prior to sending your child(ren) to school. We will enforce the mask mandate as per Oglala Sioux Tribe Ordinance 22-53. Please ensure you talk to your student(s) about wearing their masking while in the school building and activities. We are doing our best to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus but it is a team effort with the families and community to ensure everyone is safe.
Currently as of today we have 0 positive cases in our student body. We also have 0 positive cases in our staff. We also understand families experience becoming close contacts to people who are positive. The protocol for that is listed in the Back to School Plan for SY 22-23. We do receive updates from the OST Health Administration. We hope to continue to be transparent to families regarding updates around the Covid 19 virus. We appreciate all efforts to help prevent the spread of the virus so please continue to practice preventive measures. We have attached a family practice before sending students to school. Please ensure you are following the practices.
We will continue to monitor, plan, and decide according to the tribal ordinances that are in place. We will continue to keep families informed and updates will be posted on our school website, Facebook page, and via text message. Thank you for your understanding in the past few weeks and we are excited to see all of our students back in the school building.
